The Project
Named Desperado, for the ones who don't need a map to find what drives them.
Jordan Hostetter is planting the first estate vineyard for Open Soul Wines — a small, independent Oregon winery — in the Imnaha Canyon: a place of volcanic rock, rugged country, and a solitude that most vineyards will never know.
What is being built here will make Imnaha Canyon the Pacific Northwest's most remote wine country.
This canyon has room for more than one story. We're reaching across the Pacific Northwest for farmers, scientists, guides, writers, and curious people whose paths might cross ours — not just because we need them, but because what we're building here could be good for all of us.
Who We Hope to Meet
Farmers & land scientists · Guides & outfitters · Beekeepers & wildlife specialists · River & wilderness guides · Lodging & hospitality hosts · Wine, food & travel writers · Filmmakers & storytellers · Anyone drawn to wild country
"We believe the Imnaha Canyon has the soil, the climate, and the character to produce world class wines. Only time and hard work will tell."— Jordan Hostetter, Founder & Winemaker, Open Soul Wines
